tonight our congress passed the bill allowing drilling in alaska. so much
for the last wilderness by any other name.

I agree with Jon's assessment of religions, but I don't think any
monotheism - in fact any absolutist theism - is anything but an excuse for
power, murder, control. Religious leaders are as bad as fascists, perhaps
even more dangerous, since the violence masquerades as good.

We are more than violent primates; our very rapaciousness got us to the
top of a heap that wasn't a heap until we created it.

If I were to pray it would be for the death of those who administer
religions. The stupidity - of global warming as 'hypothesis' - of
'creationism' - of the rapture - the passion - of Allah and Jehovah and
all those who torture in the name of these horrors - is unbelievable.
Harris was asked if his book would do any good; he didn't think so.

Bush and company should be killed; they're killers. Now it's slaughtering
the wilderness; the Auschwitz of a 'Christian nation' will be next. If we
weren't such cowards we'd do what we can to eliminate humanity in general;
at least the environment would have a chance until the next 'brainy' evil
came along.

It's unbelievable, watching - from the heart of the monster - the destruc-
tion of all humanisms, all kindnesses, in favor of a wrathful 'god' and
the desire to feed SUVs even more fossil fuel - never mind we trash the
planet on a far higher level than any other country on earth.

All we can do is chatter until doomsday about this crap.
