Spanning Peter*

You don't have it but I do.
This is the beginning of most
Of the world's problems
As well as troubles between individuals
On a more intimate scale.
Good fortune to your fortune cookies.
If you lose them, they can be replaced.
A true master needs few props.
Something comic may be required.
Will it come on call?
Spread wings everywhere flying is needed.
Imagination is a word
We all should hear more often.
Get your manners then let them go.
Let time find you for play.
If the game you play is
Keep the internal house inside you
Beware the window's repetitions.
It may not know what to do with air.
Drag me up to your level
Then let me fly farther.
A mechanical gargoyle could show you how.
A happy family is sometimes composed of one.
More long afternoons in a park
Are advised for most city dwellers.
Bound and unbound, spent
Images regenerate fast.
Take a loud pause with silence.
Mix them together lightly.
The face you saw in the dark
May be your own or was.

Go back to the theater of mind
Where you belong.
Don't let the scuttlebut cling.
If the light grows faint awhile,
It will regain with time.
Just start writing.
Don't worry if you're unable to stop.
