what seems stranger to me is the immense stone urn which is seemingly inside dominating the space, and the fact that the girl seems to be looking through the wall at the "fog bullet" or disembodied cotton boll, and in general the angles don't seem consistent with a straight shot, but seem shot through a mirror or reflection of some sort.. the punctum of the square is very interesting, especially compositionally forming the dot of an implied i with the empty rope-guide? and the four dots, as in a die, an anthracite die? and what state is that floating between them? or is it an enlarged molding silhouette? Aah but we're looking outside.. it flips until you notice the shade-string and the fat hinge? Maybe she's just had a bad zit or something though, or got bit by a hobo spider.. she looks just like an opera singing student I once knew. an apparition, beautiful!

last night, an apparition, beautiful last night, an apparition, beautiful of a young woman perfectly framed by the studio doorway suddenly, staring at the image with which i possessed her i noticed ... nothing more or less than the mark upon her hours i labored ... hours ... until i brought to the surface what had remained hidden until i uncovered her very soul the square on the face of the very young woman the square on the face of the woman ... http://www.asondheim.org/squareonthefaceofthewoman.jpg
