nutritional poems

eat  your words

take your  words or any one else's
that  you prefer
lightly salt / or pepper
depending on  the mood
yours or the others'
crumple
place in mouth
chew well
swallow

nutriotional value:  none  or  much
depending on whose words they might be

bloody birdy

take one road kill
already crushed
preferable a pigeon
if you're a city dweller
add some gin
& a bit of ensure
blend
shake well
drink
or pour over a friend's head

nutritional value  :  zero

food or   thought

dream far
the limited rye
if food were birds
sandwiched 'tween mouthtamouth
stretched inta mayo w/their eyes

i talked to them
this morning
these birds
in me mind communing
outside-in as light rose

eeeek     eeeeek   eeeeek   eeeeek
ta speak twas food from thought
formed breaded lightly then
became a morsel
amor soul
eeeeeeek    eeeeeeek
dipped in soy or tempt  aura source
& tasty to the teeth & tongue
chewed 'n swallowed digested & shat
the song as spelled & sung

if words were food
well fed on talk alone
grown fat
& ask what each one meant
in digest form
ingesting forms or sentences
broken like a sonnet
on the palette
ah the roof of mouth
boney hard & fleshy soft
the pallet
where they lie before they spoke
smelling   tasting  spitting out
a dish  hors d'oeuvres
burning verbs
& consonanting fowl

a modified preservative
a metaphor /like
if food were birds
i'd string them all together
like sentences
if food were words
i'd hatch them all like eggs
then i'd bake em'
& fry 'em
& pouch 'em
& boil 'em & broil 'em
& steam 'em
& cook 'em over an
open fire
slowly barbecue each syllable
while  slowly turning the spit
feathers plucked & made into quills
& linings  & story books

these speaking birds
these spoken words
