While this story is atrocious & somewhat predictable given the format, the idea that it's possible to generate a people's encyclopedia is still a useful ideal.  Having spent a bunch of time observing the process that entries go thru, on a practical everyday level, decision-making is routinely an exercise in collective fascism.

i agree with that, but reputation is apparently already weakening the reliance on wik if smart people such as are occasionally found on this list are informed of the glaring abuse potential.  soon it will have a fox news aura.
