Dear Reader, 2005 has been a busy year for WWF. Despite many challenges we are making considerable progress and we would like to share a few of our recent highlights with you.
Twenty years after being reintroduced back into the wild in China, Pere David's deer are once again thriving in the Central Yangtze region. In South Africa, twenty-one black rhinos have been released at the Zululand Rhino Reserve. WWF has been instrumental in the project which aims to boost numbers of the critically endangered species by increasing the land available for conservation. In Bolivia more than two million hectares of forest has now been certified, making the South American country the world leader in tropical forest certification. We hope you will consider giving a gift today to help WWF make these things happen. http://news.panda.org/cgi-bin1/flo/y/ekXK0BPRvT0FoJ0CD660ET Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands have together committed to measures to conserve the critically endangered western Pacific leatherback turtle. The beaches of these three countries are home to the largest remaining leatherback turtle populations in the Pacific Ocean. A WWF survey, the first ever comprehensive study of Fiji's largely uncharted Great Sea Reef, the world's third longest barrier reef, has revealed a staggering array of life, including a new species of reef fish. WWF is now working with the local community to protect this unique marine environment. It's not every day we have so much good news to shout about, but we wanted to share this with you because without you we simply cannot make it all happen. You are our partner in conservation and we need your help in all our areas of work. We need your help now to protect our forests and wildlife, seas and fresh water. And we need your support now to help us stop global warming, toxic pollution, and unsustainable use of natural resources. Please take a moment to donate to WWF today. Your contribution will truly make a difference to how much we can achieve. http://news.panda.org/cgi-bin1/flo/y/ekXK0BPRvT0FoJ0CD660ET Thank you, WWF International --------------------------------------------------------------------- This message was sent from WWF International, Avenue du Mont Blanc, 1196 Gland, Switzerland. http://news.panda.org/cgi-bin1/flo/y/ekXK0BPRvT0FoJ0BQem0EN --------------------------------------------------------------------- Modify your WWF newsletter subscription Update your profile: http://news.panda.org/cgi-bin1/flo/y/ekXK0BPRvT0FoJ0CMAQ0EG If you have been forwarded this message and would like to join WWF's 'What's New' mailing list, sign up now: http://news.panda.org/cgi-bin1/flo/y/ekXK0BPRvT0FoJ0CMAR0EH You have received this update as a subscriber to WWF's 'What's New' newsletter.
