It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of South Korean
artist Nam June Paik, who died yesterday, at 73 years of age, in
Miami. A pioneer in the reinvention of TV language from the 1960s
onwards and the cofounder of the Fluxus Group, along with Joseph
Beyus, Paik was a key figure in electronic art. His videos and
installations combine music, image, and sculptural elements, often
with a touch of irreverence

were featured in a large retrospective exhibition at the
<http://www.sescsp.org.br/sesc/videobrasil/vbonline/bd/index.asp>11th
Videobrasil in 1996.
