For the Record, Mel Gibson should've died in the Post-apocalyptic future when
he had the chance, as it is,
he has become the premiere pornographer of historical violence, proving not only that the
"tragic hermeneutic"
IS the mainstream in America but wantonly, lasciviously, adding to the twisted,
bizarre, and catastrophic
deformity of American millenarian X-tianity, no mean feat (spikes included), it
being already a factory
of the purest ignorance seen in history in high production! The reason our age
is truly grotesque is because we are both
brighter in our time than the most fantastic utopia ever conceived by fiction
but also darker than the
blackest (and pardon the metaphor) middle ages. My point being, I might have a
little respect for
American Christianity if there were a single Neo-Platonic Televangelist to
rival the Pseudo-Dionysius
palpably resonant "negative theology," which was already Post-Modern before it
was truly Post-classic.
There is not. And it is that "is-not" (is not real, is not sustainable, is not
useful, which has taken the helm
of this grotesque machine called human culture. I don't think its necessarily
possible that there can be
a complete or definitive critique in terms of event actual description of the
confounded deformity of our
age, but Zizek seems at least to have grown enough arms to pinch a few of the
nipples of the ogres in the chorus..
For my lurid sensibilities, I wish Tina Turner would bust a cap in his ass, or
someone would brand his
forehead with a red-hot crucifix, permanently scarring him, as we all are, by
the irresponsible and transcendent
stupidity of his vector, which is every bit as paradoxical as our foul modern
reaminder/taint we tremblingly
admit to be "the divine"..
