Wow, a pretty open ended question. My suggestion would be to read the book 
found at www.wndw.net.  Then get your hands on some wireless routers and some 
antennas, and see what you can do.  After that, you can probably make a nice 
report to the list that answers yours question for others starting where your 
are now.
