The client is issuing the MDTM command to try and set the date on the file because the
"Preserve File Times" option is checked in WS_FTP. This use of the command is
obviously not supported by your server. No harm done and the file should be there. If
you look in the log right before the error, you should see something like: MDTM
20010610222910 /edit.htm
This is where the client is attempting to set the file time to it's original time.

Subject: [WS_FTP Forum] No such file or directory found confusion
When I FTP into my server and first upload a file to my server, I get
the message:
"550 20010610222910 edit.htm: no such file or directory"
I know 550 is supposed to be a permissions error, but I own the server
and
believe all the permissions are set correctly. Furthermore, it only
happens the first time
I log into the server. If I re-upload edit.htm (or any other file) I
don't get the error. If I log off and re-login, though, I'll get the
error again, the very first time I upload.
To make matters more confusing, the file uploads just fine, even when I
get the error. It's not a problem so much as it is a
nuisance/annoyance. And it's confusing!
Can anyone offer any help?
Thanks,
Joe DeRouen
