Just upgraded from 6.51 to 7.0 and am seeing severe performance
degradation problems. Is anyone else experiencing this?
Specifics:
System: Win 98SE on 200 MHz Pentium II, free memory 128 MB
Connection: Dialup at an indicated 45.3K to Web site at my ISP.
Response to display local and remote directories takes 35-40 seconds
AFTER server responds! This is significantly slower than previous
versions.
Using WS_Ping ProPack: average throughput to the domain/Web site was
14.46 Kbits/sec, median was 12.59 Kbits/sec, at time of testing WS_FTP
Pro 7.0.
File transfer performance is on par with older versions although I don't
have numbers to quantify that. There is one other minor glitch (Refresh
button), which I reported to Ipswitch support staff.
Puzzled and frustrated because I move lots of files each day to various
Web sites...
