I also experience this problem and am using Checkpoint's FW-1, this solution
does not work for me, the problem exists with all clients no matter the
configuration, the client should recover from this on it's own.

I've a similar problem using ZoneAlarmPro latest version, completely
patched and WS-FTP latest version, downloaded today. I only have one
site to which I upload files (ie my website host). I can connect to the
site and do lists and download files from the site, but can't upload to
it.
In passive mode it says the upload is successful, but the supposedly
transferred file doesn't show up at the host site. In active mode it's
unable to complete the connection at all.
If you like I can post a log of the activity.
Can anyone help. The only solution I've found is to completely disenable
the firewall do the transfer and then hope I remember to re-enable the
firewall.
