I've got WsFtpPro 6.2 installed on a Win95 OSR2 computer. I use a script
file to remotely transfer files from the computer to an ftp site via the
internet. This has been working quite well for some time (about a year). A
few months ago a strange thing began happening. The ftp script would fail to
connect to the ftp site after the computer has been operating continuously
for a random period (sometimes a week or two or three). If the computer is
then restarted the problem does not occur (connection to the ftp site is
made properly) but again after some random period the problem is
experienced.

I have done some limited troubleshooting as this computer is remote. I have
tried different ftp sites but same problem. Thinking it may be a DNS
problem, I adjusted the script entering the IP address of the ftp site but
no success. I made a little batch file to run the Windows traceroute command
which returns the following:

C:\WINDOWS>tracert 90.0.0.1

Tracing route to 90.0.0.1 over a maximum of 30 hops

  1 Destination host unreachable.

Trace complete.

NB: I have used 90.0.0.1 instead of the actual IP address of the ftp server.

Any suggestions as to what's wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Chan.
