Yeah,
 I'm sure that is how the ws came into play into forming the name of their
program. Really wasn't what I was getting at.

 WSftp is the name of the program. winsock is the transport mechanism it
uses to establish its connetion.
 There are many winsock based ftp clients....

If someone were to say to me "I'm going to show you how to use winsock
ftp" I would say, "which one?"

 If Ipswitch named the program winsock ftp at one time, then I would
understand this usage. That is what I was getting at.
