HI! Just wondering if anyone has encountered any problems like us. If you did, what is the resolution.
We have WS_FTP Server 3.01 running on Windows 2000 server. We are currently in ONE DOMAIN using active directory in MIXED MODE as some of our Windows NT servers (BDCs) are still up and running. Our FTP server is setup with bunch of Virtual Directories with evryone full control in ws_FTP server admin manager and then appropriate NTFS permissions (Change) are applied at the folder level to lock them out of each other's directories. This has been working for over six months for us. We have just discovered a problem where the users are not able to rename any files or folders under their virtual folders. Upon checking IPSWITCH's web site we found a release notes in WS_FTP v.3.12 that talks about fixing the very same problems in the privious versions with this new patch. Since we were going to update our server with the newer version of the software we picked the latest V. 3.13. We ran some tests in updating from V. 3.01 to v. 3.13 by installing v. 3.13 on top of v. 3.01. On Windows 2000 test server... We noticed that now the users are not able to see any contents in the virtual folder during their FTP session, however, if they knew a filename or folder they can rename or delete it. They can also upload a folder in their virtual directory, however it is not visible to them on ls -l command. I installed it on a Windows NT workstation and applied the very same update and there are no problems. I can see the contents, I canm rename the files withing Virtual folder.. Any suggesstions? work arounds? Thx Mukesh Tailor Systems Analyst City of Edmonton Please visit http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html to be removed from this list.
