[WS_FTP Forum] Problem connecting after updating WinProxy

Hello all.  This is my first posting to the list although I've been monitoring it for a while.

I have a small network at home and a medium network at work.  I use WinProxy 4.0 at both locations as well as WS_FTP Pro.  At the end of last week I updated my WinProxy 4.0 to the latest release (R1k) at both locations.  Now my WS_FTP Pro program will not connect to three of my major sites.

I really don't think it's a problem with WS_FTP Pro but I'm hoping others here may be using WinProxy as well and perhaps had the same problem and have figured out how to correct it.  Additionally, I don't think the problem is with the WinProxy program either although there may be an indirect involvement.  I will explain.

• The WinProxy program is running on W2K Pro machine at home and a Win98se machine at work so I don't think it's an O/S issue.
• The WS_FTP Pro program will connect to an Earthlink site from both home and work so this seems to eliminate WinProxy as the direct cause of this problem.
• However, the WS_FTP Pro will not connect to three of my main sites hosted on two different W2K Server machines.  One site on one machine and two sites on a different machine in the same domain.
• The WS_FTP Pro program will also fail to connect to one of my minor sites hosted at a different location although I'm not sure what O/S is running that server.

This seems to indicate to me that the problem is with the hosting servers in question.  However, one other quirk is even at the servers where I can not get WS_FTP Pro to connect I can successfully connect using DOS FTP commands at a DOS prompt and even a competing Windows-based FTP program.  This also seems to eliminate WinProxy as the culprit with this problem.

Any ideas?
