I have a problem when uploading a 1 MB file to my web site. It gets so far (random amount) and then the connection is dropped. WS_FTP Pro continues trying until it gives up and all other access (IE, email etc says the connection is lost or not there) There is no activity comming in.
A few details to save you asking:
Windows 2000 - Trust 56k V92 PCI modem - WS_FTP Pro v7.61
I run Symantec Norton AntiVirus and ZoneAlarm
I have two web sites at different locations and the fault is consistent across both.
I have spoken to my service provider Virgin net 24seven and to my web hosts both have been helpful but we cannot get to the bottom of it. I have also had the "gain" on my telephone line increased byt British Telecom.
Downloading files with WS_FTP Pro or from the internet is fine (2, 3, 4 Meg) everything else works just fine - but when I go to upload a significant file the odds are very high that it blonks out.
Has anybody got a clue what could be behind this or even how I could begin to investigate or work around it. It is very frustrating and making life difficult.
All the best
Nik
