WS_FTP ftpsync V 7.62 uploads too many files I'm using ftpsync now for a couple of weeks. Ever now and then I experience that it uploads many files which are unchanged since years. Somebody in Germany told me (to prevent this error of uploading way too many files) to change the switch in the profile. I have now "Keep date and time" whatever that means .
Yesterday, I synchronized my website and AFAIK it worked as desired. Later the same day I created a new directory with about 5 or 6 files. Then I executed ftpsync utility again. Here is part of the log. ..... = HHL99.htm -> (gedicht 28.03.03 18:51) New Directory -> (HHK01.htm 07.12.02 10:24) New File -> (HHK01A.htm 05.08.02 18:03) New File ...... "gedicht" is of course the new directory, but the following files are NOT in this directory but in the upper level directory (where ftpsync just was scanning; where also HHL99.htm is located). As you see by the log, these falsely attributed new files are from the year 2002. Ultimately, ftpsync transferred all new files (about 5-6), created the new directory, but it also transferred all the presumably new files, starting with HHK01.htm, these were about 3-4 MB. I suspect that ftpsync discovers the new directory name and wrongly assumes all following files to be new too.
