I've always felt pretty comfortable deleting anything
in the Temp folder that is more than a day old (or maybe just older
than the last time you rebooted). If you trust Microsoft to do the job for you safely (and don't mind spending a bit of time), you can also try using Windows' built-in "Disk Cleanup" utility. After analyzing your hard drive to see how it can help you (and it pays not to touch your PC while it's doing this), it offers you a number of options, via checkboxes, including getting rid of "Temporary files." I think I'd un-install WS_FTP first (and again manually remove the /Program Files/WS_FTP folder) before you run Disk Cleanup. Then re-install your registered WS_FTP afterwards. For some pretty nice instructions on how to use the XP version of Disk Cleanup, see... http://www.theeldergeek.com/disk_cleanup_utility.htm It's possible that this won't help. It might be something other than temporary files that is causing the problem, e.g. some Windows registry entry that's not getting cleared or some DLL that's not being overwritten by the reinstall. Windows can be such a pain sometimes. I'd have to leave those kinds of problems to more expert hands than mine to solve! If you have an active Service Agreement with Ipswitch (or purchased WS_FTP within the last 60 days), you might consider submitting an e-mail support ticket to Ipswitch through their Web site. In my experience they usually respond within 24 hours with helpful advice. Bob C. Gerrie Warner wrote: Please visit http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html to be removed from this list.
