Make sure your upload is passive mode and binary. Check your log to make sure that the upload completed and did not time out and that the size of the file is the same on the client and server. I have seen this when a file is not completely uploaded.

Subject: [WS_FTP Forum] Large Files Corrupted
When I FTP a relatively large file (18 megs or so) to my FTP server with WS_FTP Pro 7.5 2002.02.28, the file is somehow corrupted.
What I'm uploading is an InstallShield installer file. It is an .exe file.
Once it finishes, the icon for an installer file is no longer displayed for the file, although it is for other installers on the same server; when I run it, a DOS window appears for about a second and then closes...nothing else happens.
When it is downloaded from the server it also has lost its icon, and when executed it brings up a DOS window and then quickly closes.
The server is running Windows 2000 Advanced Server.
Anyone heard of anything like this before?
Steve
