Hi
Tony:
The ASCII, Binary,
and Auto-detect options have nothing whatever to do with determining which site
will be accessed. These options are used only to specify the file transfer mode.
Normally, you leave this set to Auto-detect for all sites, in which case WS_FTP
determines the proper transfer mode for each file.
To set up a new
site, click Connect on the bottom button bar to display the Connection window.
In the Connection window, select File > New Site from the menu (or click the
New Site button) to display the WS_FTP Pro Site Profile Wizard. Supply the
requested information about the new site, and click Finish when you are done.
Now you should be able to connect to the new site.
This is how it's
done in WS_FTP Pro version 7, but I expect the procedure is very similar for
newer versions. If the above does not work for you, I am at a loss and suggest
you contact Ipswitch for assistance.
Regards,
Jeff
DeTray

Subject: [WS_FTP Forum] Unable to connect to 2nd siteI have had WS_FTP Pro for seveal weeks and have found it very easy to use in building my first website. I now have a second place to build a site and have created an index.html page for it.My problem is, when I try to connect to site B to load it's first page my FTP utility tries instead to connect to site A. I have tried several ways of entering the address of site B in case I was doing it wrong but still no luck.Right clicking on the names gives me a drop-down list with; "Start-up, ASC11, Binary and Auto detect." The radio button by Auto detect is indicated. My feeling is, because I created site A first, does my utility see it as a default site? Should I check Binary rather than Auto detect and if so, how does one apply this whilst setting up? I went back and looked in "Set-up" and that drop-list does not have either the ASC11 or Binary options.
