Jay Dee,

Like Frank said the exact error message will help out tremendously.  Here are some things to try out BUT they may not have a bearing after you post the exact error message you are receiving

These articles in the WSFTP support archives might help as well (Google is a wonderful troubleshooting tool!) : http://www.mail-archive.com/[EMAIL PROTECTED]/msg01350.html , and http://www.mail-archive.com/[EMAIL PROTECTED]/msg01348.htmlhttp://www.mail-archive.com/[EMAIL PROTECTED]/msg01349.html

Also, are you hosting the web server yourselves or is it off site?  If it is offsite you may need to ask the company hosting it if they have the necessary ports open in their firewall to allow you to get to it.  If you have moved them within the last 24 to 48 hours, the other thing that might be happening is that the DNS records have not populated out to the internet yet, or not made it to your DNS server.  One other thing to check is that your local WSFTP program is pointed at the new web server and not to the old one.  We run an ISP and web host here and I can't count the number of times that happened when we moved websites to other servers or moved customers to a different FTP server.

That being said, from the postings above I would make a guess it to be a port 20 and 21 problem and ports 1024 and up, where they are being blocked on the new web server or firewall.  Give your web host/tech rep a call and ask them about the ports and give them the error message and it should help to troubleshoot it.

Jaydee,

Can you please copy the exact error you’re getting when trying to connect?. Also this is a forum that you signed up for.

Everytime you or anyone replies to one of these emails it gets sent to everyone and not just you. Chris was not talking to you and calling you Larry, he was stating in General that it is annoying when Everyone on the forum gets these emails that just state someone nobody even knows is on vacation as an autoreply.

Dear Mark,

I have to think from this email that i received from you, that you are trying to help me with my problem...I am desperate.

I am in hotel business and i must change the prices on my website. I have been doing it for years using WS-FTP Pro, however now we have changed WEB SERVERS and when i try to log on it says that the DNS is wrong and I CAN'T GET ANYONE AT IPSWITCH TO HELP ME. I HAVE A WARRANTY AND STILL NO HELP.

Please, I am not a computer person and you may think that beneath your expertise, however i need someone who is nice enough to take me under their expertise and guide me through step by step. If i don't do get it up and running soon, i could lose my job. This would be devasting for me as i am handicapped and it is very hard to find work.

Sincerely

Jaydee Ferguson
