Use it all the time. Works just fine. Just like being on the console.

                Hi Alyssa,

If you take the "Lock users to home directory on" off, they can't see
other users directories. They can back up and see other directories higher than their
own, but they can't CD into them. So they can't see files that other users have.
By Security method, I meant the "Set User DB" button. Which security
database are you using?
I don't know of any other manuals other than this help forum.

Hi James, thanks for responding very much. Yes, I do have "Lock users
to home directory on". I don't want them to see each others folders, only their own.
Also, I'm not sure what you mean by security method.
Any ideas why I can't add users to have permissions for a virtual
folder.
Also, is there any documentation on the ftpserver except manual?
                ! thanks so much.
                I appreciate this so much.

                Hi,

A couple of ideas. Do you have the default of 'Lock users to home
directory' on? That would stop them from seeing other folders.

Also, what security method are you using? Ipswitch's database, or NT
security or ?.

                Hi everyone.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns =
"urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
I hope someone can help me. I'm using WS_FTP server version 4. I have
one host and about 6 users. One of the users is host/admn, others have limited
permissions. I have users folders locate! d in ftpsvc/host/users/ I also created few
virtual folders.
My problem is that when users log on, they can't see their home
directory. I want them to see users/user_name, and then their folders.
Also the only person that can have VIRTUAL folder is user with
host/admin permissions. When I try to add other users to have permission to a specific
folder, it doesn't allow me to do that. If I create a new folder, and add permission
to a user, after refreshing, it shows permission for absolutely different user (the
one that has admn/host permissions). Any thoughts will do.
Thanks so much in advance. Alyssa
