It's worth a try. Several people have reported a similar issue because WinXP SP1
enables the built in firewall in XP in order to try to prevent virus' spreading. Once
you determine it was something that changed in XPSP1, then you can re-install XPSP1
(you definately SHOULD be running it!) and work on the firewall rulebase to make
WS_FTP work again.

Yes, Pete, I did. I am running Windows XP Pro SP1.

If I roll back to a restore point prior to the updates,
that should remedy the problem?

Thanks.

Did you apply any Microsoft service packs or hot-fixes?

Stelios,

I also run WS_FTP Pro 8.03. My problem is a little different.

I have been running a sync routine as a schedule task for several months.
It recently quit; no files are copied to the server. I get "Failed, error:
1007"
for each file I am trying to SSH to the server.

Sorry that I can't help with your problem. I hope someone can give me
some suggestions as to what has suddenly caused my sync routine to fail.
