Hey thanks, But what I would like to do is prevent clients from sending MDTM commands so that the server time is always preserved no matter what. And I cannot find any place where you can allow/ disallow certain commands in the server console.

This is an internal command for the protocol (like STOR, RETR, etc.) that is a proposed, but as yet unaccepted standard. Without the MDTM command, the server sets the date/time for an uploaded file to the time on the server. By running a trace, you should see that the WS_FTP client sends the MDTM command to the server. I think you will see that IIS returns an error for the MDTM command (which is not considered a serious problem by WS_FTP client). I **believe** IIS includes an MDTM command but it does not adhere to the proposed standard. I may have stated this point incorrectly, so please check further. The WS_FTP server supports MDTM, and will set the date/time correctly (down to the seconds). However, the ftpsync program only compares date/times down to the minute, and this can lead to errors in file synchronization. ===snip=== and this one (http://www.mail-archive.com/[EMAIL PROTECTED]/msg00664.html): ===snip=== question: When I FTP into my server and first upload a file to my server, I get the message: "550 20010610222910 edit.htm: no such file or directory" answer: The client is issuing the MDTM command to try and set the date on the file because the "Preserve File Times" option is checked in WS_FTP. This use of the command is obviously not supported by your server. No harm done and the file should be there. If you look in the log right before the error, you should see something like: MDTM 20010610222910 /edit.htm This is where the client is attempting to set the file time to it's original time. ===snip=== pitter -----Ursprungliche Nachricht----- Von: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Auftrag von David Knapp Gesendet: Dienstag, 31.
