Hello,

I would appreciate some help.   Simply here is my dilemma.

I purchased an upgrade on 2/14/05 to upgrade my Version 7.62 2002.12.18 Ws_ftp Pro to 9.01.

I have two major problems.

1) I cannot get the patch to load on my Win98 SE OS.  I get the following error:

The error is:

wsftp_proecp_install program performed an illegal operation.
General Protection Fault in unknown module at 0000:825aed37

The Tech Staff staff asked me to uninstall the 7.62 and run a non-patched version.   The error is the same:

wsftp_proec_install program performed an illegal operation.
General Protection Fault in unknown module at 0000:825aed37

So far I cannot run the program.

2) My second question has to do with the "sticky bit" in Unix permissions.   The 1st digit.. I need to be able to do a chmod to the sticky bit and not just the 2, 3 and 4 digits like your old version.  I was told that version 9.01 can do this.  IS THIS CORRECT?

Regards,

Ed Gelb
