You also refer to being able to save ok at work so I assume the problem is at home. I have tried using the the connection wizard and 'create site' in the site manager. Everything seems fine. It accepts all the info and lets me connect, but it does not store it in the list of sites. I have two sites there and can not add any. I also run the same version at work and have 12 sites in the Site Manager.
