I use WS_FTP Pro to connect from my windows 2000 pc to my HP/Compaq Tru64
Unix/Oracle server for file transfers daily.
Recently I got in trouble, because the sysadmin of the unix box thought I
was logging in as root to do FTP.
I had to prove that the FTP daemon was running as root.
This is not my problem.
My problem is that when I connect from client to server and do my work then
disconnect... the next day and for days past, the server side connection is
still showing in the unix process list. That's what got me in trouble in the
first place.
Why does the server side process not die on disconnect?
