Hello,

We have ordered WSFTPPRO 2006 so that we can send PGP encrypted files via ftp.

I am very new to pgp in general, although I have done extensive google-searches on the subject of PGP..

I just have not actually used PGP.

I have already setup public/private keys per the OpenPGP tab inside the WSFTPPRO evaluation copy that I am testing the process with.

I have tried testing for 2 days, and need more help with using the OpenPGP within WSFTPPRO.

I named the file per instructions from ‘the receiving party’, however I still am unsuccessful transferring the file.

Attempt #1 à named the file as ‘file.001.txt’(a semicolon delimited file) as the receiver needs the ‘.001’ in a node of the file name in case we send multiple files in a particular day.  The file was received as ‘file.001.txt.pgp’ which was unacceptable.

Attempt #2 à named it ‘file.001.pgp’, and was received as ‘file.001.pgp.pgp’

Attempt #3 à named it ‘file.001’ (without TXT or PGP extensions)…. Not sure if that worked either, as the receiver has not contacted me with results.

BASICALLY, I need a ‘step by step’ explanation of how to transfer files using the PGP within WSFTPPRO, starting at the very beginning step of opening WSFTPRO 2006.

(I am not 100 % sure I have created the keys correctly either, as I am just using the ‘trial-and-error’ approach to learn this.  There is not a lot of PGP usage knowledge/experience here at our company.).

Can anyone help?.

Thanks.
