Try it with Filezilla and see if you get the same behavior.  That should tell you whether it's WS_FTP or not.  I use both...just trying to isolate the source of the problem here, not pitching Filezilla..<g>  Always good to have multiple tools in the toolbox.   Terry J. Hi, Thanks for responding,   As for item 1…. it is Win XP setup with NTFS so it should be able to handle 2 terra byte files sizes As for item 2…. I work with the company that has the server and they have no quota limits set and are check their server support As for item 3…. Cable modem and there is no size limit, it is just bandwidth As for item 4…. Looking into that but doubt.   Here is the bottom line. I was using WS_FTP several years ago. The license lapsed and now I have a need for a ftp software. So I came back and just downloaded the last trial and if it worked out purchase it again. I really need this file, I have tried 5 times with 4+ hours each time and trying one last time. Some older versions of Windows used disk formats like FAT, FAT32, etc.. Some of those disk systems had limitations on the number of files in a directory and on the maximum size of a single file. It is also possible that the host site has some size or timing quota set, I.E. If you take too long to download it cuts you off. I don't know if any ISPs implement size quotas. I saw a situation where the packet/MTU size was a little different from what a Firewall was expecting. The firewall would allow about 2 GB of an FTP through, then the packet fragmentation would get so large that the FTP would stop. Once the packet/MTU size was matched up, the problem went away.
