There's a command in the scripting language that I recall that you need for switching to SSL mode in a script.  You don't have to script the "AUTH" stuff, it does that once it knows it should connect in SSL mode.  It should be one of the very first lines in the script.  It should be in the scripting command reference.   I think the command is "SSL #" where # is one of 0, 1, or 2.
