Hello All,
I’ve got an old FTP server running ver. 4.0 with sites setup for SSL connection. A few days ago we started getting connection errors. Upon testing I noticed that I was able to make FTP connections to the server from an FTP client on the server, which told me the services were working fine. However, no one outside our location could connect. I also was having problems connecting to the internet from the server itself. Even though none of the firewall configurations had changed the server couldn’t accept inbound connections. So, I replaced the firewall. Now, I can access the internet from the server without issue. I can also access their test website on the server from the outside without issue. But when I go to make an FTP connection I get a “connection timed out; the connection timed out while waiting for a response from the server.” Now, I’m able to receive the SSL cert request without issue, but it times out after I accept the cert.
The server has a dual nic, so thinking it might be a port problem, I switched ports on the nic card. Still no success. Any thoughts or suggestions here? I’m baffled.
