Hi Ralph,
Yeah, the out of office messages can get
to be a pain. I’m on a couple different email lists, the WSFTP one
being my newest addition.
So what were the error messages that came
up? Like any other debugging, we start with the first and work our way
through them.
Oh, and I don’t envy you the task of
the GUI processor. So many things can go wrong…. Worst one is
always the loose nut on the end of the keyboard…. <smile>

Scripting
Bob,
Thank
you most kindly. If you've been watching the maillist messages, I seem to
have hit an "Out Of Office" week. ;-)
I
tried using the first sample script (the script to pull the readme file from
the Ipswitch site) and got error messages. I will confess that then
dropped the message on the maillist in hopes of finding someone who could give
me a little insight into or, as you put it, act as a sounding board for
developing scripts.
I
have been tagged (because I have done various forms of FTP in the past) with a)
developing some scripts and b) developing a GUI app that lets others develop
scripts "in a reasonable manner" that are "as free of blatant
scripting errors as possible". (No pressure, no worries, right? ;-)

I’ll help you with what I know. Most
of my approach has been as if I’m just doing DOS command (batch) files,
though. If nothing else I’d be happy to be a sounding board for
you.

Subject: [WS_FTP Forum] Scripting
Greetings All,
I am fairly new to the scripting of WS-FTP Pro and I have some questions.
1) Does anyone have a suggestion as to another reference or additional
information on the script commands other than the reference guide? I am
looking for something that gives a bit more insight into the order in which
things should logically be done and error handling.
2) Is anyone willing to mentor me just a bit in this area? (I'll trade mentoring
on anything _i_ know. ;-)
Respectfully,
