Thanks Eric,

I had failed to search for hidden files.

Now I have found WSFTP_options.ini in:

C:\Documents and Settings\allusers\Application Data\Ipswitch\WS_FTP\

C:\Documents and Settings\chris\Application Data\Ipswitch\WS_FTP\

Chris is my son and the new machine is surplus from his office.

Can I dispense with one of those 'user' folders because the machine is only used by me?

After writing the above I looked at the tree and found a folder called/sites/ which had a ReadMe file and told me to put WSFTP.ini in that folder.

I have done that and all is well apart from the fact that the original site is in the "Sites" folder and the transferred sites are in a subfolder called "Shared Sites". They are not shared and I would prefer that they were in the "Sites" main folder but it is not crucial.

May thanks for your help.

Robin

The ini file is usually in the C:\Documents and Settings\<your user name>\Application Data\Ipswitch\WS_FTP\Sites folder which if you are not showing hidden files and folders you will not see nor be able to search to.. Just plug the path into your windows explorer and it should come up.. Then copy the ini file into that folder

Subject: [WS_FTP Forum] Problem moving sites to new machine

I am running WS_FTP Professional 2007 and Windows XP Professional SP2 on both machines.

I need to transfer the site manager information.

I have followed the KB and I have found WS_FTP.ini on the old machine.

I have one site set up on the new machine but a site search for *.ini finds neither WS_FTP.ini nor original.ini on the new machine.

Now I am lost. What can I do?
