We have another meeting coming up in three weeks. I will be asking people in a week or so to RSVP, but for now I'd like a quick poll on preferred topics.
This poll is open to all members, even if you cannot attend (or are in a different city/country), as the presentations will be made available to the entire group. I think that it is important and relevant that this discussion happen on-list, as there may be ideas suggested that will spark something else. ----------------------------------------------- A. Vote on preferred choice for first presentation of the evening ----------------------------------------------- A1. Basic step-by-step site accessibility demo. This will include: - skip menus (hidden and visible) - separating presentation from content (briefly) - source ordering - accessible data tables (summaries, captions, thead, tbody, id, headers, scope) - accessible forms (fieldset legend, id, label for) OR A2. Presentation on the basics of CSS floats: - introduction to float concept - right aligned images - floats for drop caps - floated next and back buttons - floated image gallery thumbnails - floated inline lists for site navigation - floated columns for 2 and 3 column page layouts ----------------------------------------------- B. Calling for members willing to do second presentation of the evening ----------------------------------------------- B1. Is there a web standards related topic that you would like to present to the group. Let us know! OR B2. Is there a web standards related topic you would like to know more about? Let the group know and there is a good chance that there will be someone in the group with skills in this area. Don't be shy! : ) Russ ***************************************************** The discussion list for http://webstandardsgroup.org/ *****************************************************
