The topic of "asking for help from the list" came up during the meeting
tonight.

Asking for help is encouraged on this list! The WSG is about helping each
other move towards developing with web standards. There are many people on
this list who are willing to help you with problems - including Flash, PHP,
CSS and ColdFusion (plus other areas). The easier you make it for them, the
more likely they are to help and the more likely they are to solve your
problem.

The most common problems are to do with browsers rendering aspects of
layout. Here are a few steps before posting a rendering problem to the list:

1. Set up a sample page that shows the problem in action. Try to simplify
the page down to the problem elements, if the problem can be isolated.

2. Validate you HTML code:
http://validator.w3.org/

3. Validate your CSS code:
http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/

4. Test the page on a range of browsers - as many as you can get access to.

5. post you problem to the list with the following info:
- a link to the sample url
- a link to the css file if it is separate
- a short, clear explanation of the problem
- a list of browsers and how they render the problem
