Bravely, I bought an EMac to view sites I'm building on IE 5.2 for Mac and Safari 1.1.1

I'm determined to follow Web standards, but the eMac browsers havegot me very confused.

I read that Safari is about the most standards compliant browser you can get. My ultimate aim is to code for that and fix problems on other browsers.
True!
Here a link to a CSS script (currently in alpha ) that will take care of IE on Windows.
The file itself is linked to "src" in the breadclumb index. It will make Microsoft Internet Explorer more compliant when it comes to web standards.

My confusion arises from the fact that the W3Schools browser stats http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_stats.asptell me that IE6 is growing fast and currently holds 71.8% and the Windows family accounts for over 90%. I am wondering whether I'm wise to code for Safari rather than !E6.

I'm doing early testing for a currently text-heavy site and you can view the home page at the followingaddress: www.bluemountainsgardener.info/camelliagrove

It validates and I've got it working perfectly in IE6 on Windows, but had great trouble with Safari and IE 5.2 on Mac.

I had to put the whole page into a table (and I felt badly about it) just to get it to center on Safari.
I cannot get it to center, even with the table, on IE 5.2 on Mac.

The style sheet holds lots of extra stuff that you won't see yet as other pages have to be built and uploaded. But it will reveal the structure I've created.

I'd appreciate any guidance anyone can give. I'm frustrated but determined to persevere with Web standards.
