#main doesn't have any non-floating and hence height relevant content. You might try adding some clearing element at the end of #container, after #main or just add float: left to the definition of #container.
I tried this via edit-styles bookmarklet in Mozilla and it works, I think there shouldn't be any problems with other browsers, but check.
