I took a look at this article mentioned in Russ's "light reading" missive today,
The Practice of CSS Column Design: Boxes in Columns http://www.communitymx.com/abstract.cfm?cid=CB7B3
The article includes this statement:
Be aware that either borders or padding can trap the margin inside the div, so it's possible to use as little as 1px top and bottom padding on the div to permanently trap the margin of a child element within the div.
What does it mean to "trap the margin"? It's unclear to me at least whether it's a good thing or not to 'trap the margin' and what it means when you do. Can anyone explain for me please?
