I have coded my own blog. www.neester.com took me about 4 days to et working. now its working great! I have added bbcode to make it simple for me to format. simply a [b] or [i]... URLs are auto converted etc... its perfect for me. i really HATE using pre-written code. I feel like such a script kiddy. No offence to all those script kiddies out there who use wordpress or the like... :) just kidding of course. i mean as much offence as i can :) just joking... :D but yeah. I always try and make my own solution. it takes longer, and isn't always the best. but atleast i know its my work! cheers! Chatham, Will wrote: I use Wordpress too on my personal Blog. After doing a lot of testing, I settled on it for it's ease of use and standards compliance. The only thing tricky I have found is that you have to be careful when you cut & paste text into a blog entry. If there are any special characters, it will throw off your validation. Will Chatham --------oOo-------- www.willchatham.com ------------------------Original Message----- From: Neerav [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Sunday, July 18, 2004 11:39 PM To: WSG Subject: [WSG] Semantic personal publishing platform with a focus on aesthetics, web standards, and usability I have just setup Wordpress http://wordpress.org/ on the weekend for my new blog at http://www.bhatt.id.au/blog/ and am very impressed with it WordPress is a state-of-the-art semantic personal publishing platform with a focus on aesthetics, web standards, and usability. * It was really easy to modify the basic template (by Dave Shea?) to integrate it into my own sites layout and colour scheme * the publishing system is easy to use, and * it uses semantically correct XHTML & CSS -- Neerav Bhatt http://www.bhatt.id.au Web Development & IT consultancy Mobile: +61 (0)403 8000 27http://www.bhatt.id.au/blog/ - Ramblings Thoughts http://www.bookcrossing.com/mybookshelf/neerav ***************************************************** The discussion list for http://webstandardsgroup.org/ See http://webstandardsgroup.org/mail/guidelines.cfm for some hints on posting to the list & getting help ***************************************************** ***************************************************** The discussion list for http://webstandardsgroup.org/ See http://webstandardsgroup.org/mail/guidelines.cfm for some hints on posting to the list & getting help ***************************************************** |
