If it's just to pretty up the page then you could use JavaScript to change the CSS background i.e.
document.getElementById('banner').style.background = "#fff url(image2.jpg) no-repeat 0 0"; - you could change the image part to be any type of variable you like.

i am using a image rotator php script in the home page of the site. The problem will image rotator scripts either in PHP or Javascript is that, they rotate the images from a particular folder randomly. But when you validate, the image will not have "alt" tag or a "title" tag to make it accessible.
