You could try installing your faux columns inside a containing div rather than in the body. That way they would stretch according to the content, and you would not have to cover them up with a footer at the base of the browser window.

I'm using Dan Cedarholm's faux column's technique, but I can't get the footer to sit at the bottom of the page, so the columns stick out a little when viewed on IE/Mac. The site address is http://navmedia.com/ . Any reasons for this? I've looked through the list of IE/Mac bugs but can't seem to find the appropriate one.
