What I mean is that criticising somebody for creating Web Standards Planet (whether called this or HooAhoy.com or rooteytoootey.com) is kind of harsh. Ok so there wasn't content in the center of the page. I noticed in the initial post the phrase "I had a great idea yesterday". I think words of encouragement for doing a good deed, an inviting word of belonging to the club so to speak, would be of far greater benefit to web standards than criticism of the idea point blank.
As a lower lower end freelance web designer without the luxury of some of the years of experience in Web Standards of members of this list it is a concern. Is this becoming an elitist list at all? We are all just trying to promote and encourage the Web Standards movement after all, and not our individual egos. Constructive criticisms are one thing but I recall getting a reply once myself that said "Its not PHP its the programmer". Was this a constructive criticism or simply a barb?
I think the more standards portals out there the better. I may not need it but I can name a lot of interested people who would. Good work Jad, keep it up.
