Thank you everybody for your input on my question!  I decided to go with
Marc's recommendation and example and use an unordered list (as well as
styling, minus the img border).  I think it serves the purpose in several
ways:

1. Shows the relationship between the image and the title.
2. Helps clean up the markup *somewhat*
3. Gets rid of the unneeded class tags I had

I liked the idea of the definition list per Ted, however in my opinion, the
title didn't really "define" the image.

Looking back, I don't think the div approach I originally took was all that
bad though, but as is usually the case - there is a better way.
