[WSG] Why does my menu float high in IE?

Can anyone see why my menu is floating above the content div in IE6?  It's supposed to be touching the white area below it, as it does in Firefox and Netscape, but for a reason I can't find, in IE6 it floats above and resists any attempt I've made to bring it to heel.   Obviously it's possible to get it to behave, because others have made it do so, but all the things I've tried have come to naught.  I'm clearly missing something simple, but can't figure out what it is.   I just KNOW its going to be one of those moments when you slap your forehead and say OH YEAH!!
