Looks like stopdesign is using fixed width containers, so when the text enlarges the page stretches vertically but not horizontally.
You need to check the various layouts that he uses. There is an option to change the style to Liquid Bleach (I think). You will find that he does have a fluid layout. You just have to enable it.
