What is a good web standards web counter to add to a web site to monitor web site hits. Some counters will say that hitting the back button to go back as a web site hit. A client would like to see how many times the web site I built is accessed.

Easiest solution is to use Webalizer. It analyzes server logs, so it's invisible to users and doesn't require any code changes from you.
