[WSG] Site review

I am new to Web Standards and I would like to know whether what I have done so far seems correct for the gurus.   Can you have a review of the following site, which I derived from http://www.alistapart.com. The work is a bit special though because I am using pure XML, somehow turned to XHTML via XSL.   What I know already is that the site does not look exactly the same in IE and in FireFox.   Any recommendation is of course welcome.   Thanks, Pat   Site: http://www.fastwrite.com/vHosts/SimpleGray/index.xml
