I have been working on upgradeing http://choroideremia.org to web standards.
When I use FireFox 1.01 to go to http://choroideremia.org , my PC crashes

Angus, try deleting *all* the declarations in the head of the document above <body>, and replace what was there with this:
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN"
"http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd";>
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"; xml:lang="en" lang="en">
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Style-Type" content="text/css" />
<title>Choroideremia Research Foundation Inc.</title>
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="http://choroideremia.org/css/crf_css1.css"; />
</head>
Then run the file through Tidy Online-- upload the Tidy corrected file, and try Firefox agaign.
