These days I always use:
#{margin : 0; padding : 0} at the start of my CSS. This removes all the
'default' padding, margins etc from everything, and you set your own,
throughout.
Sometimes a pain if you're being lazy or in a rush, but it does allow for
excellent control of your layout.
